Who We Are

Nexus Experientia Solutions (NEX_S) is a strategic consulting firm that helps organizations turn complex requirements into clear, workable routines. We serve small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofits, and associations—and we bring the structure and discipline to scale our work to the Federal arena when needed. Our sweet spot is where governance, cybersecurity, privacy, and responsible AI meet day-to-day operations.

We listen first. Before recommending anything, we learn how your organization actually works—your goals, your people, the way processes run on paper and in practice, and the technology that keeps everything moving. Then we right-size the path forward: simple roles, short checklists, useful metrics, and documentation that supports how work really gets done. The result is less friction, fewer surprises, and improvements that last.

Our leadership brings two decades of building and tuning programs, earning approvals for complex cloud systems, and improving delivery through straightforward operating practices. We’re comfortable with recognized benchmarks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, NIST 800-171/CMMC, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) but we speak plain language and focus on outcomes. As a small firm with big-program experience, we can advise at the executive level, coach managers, work alongside operators—and, when appropriate, lead as a prime contractor to U.S. Federal agencies with disciplined program management and audit-ready execution.

Our Principles

  • Listen first. Context drives better decisions.
  • Right-size everything. Use the lightest process that works.
  • Clarity over complexity. Make roles and routines easy to follow.
  • Measure what matters. Track a few signals that guide action.
  • Improve continuously. Small wins compound over time.

If you value practical solutions, clear ownership, and measurable results, you’ll find a steady partner in NEX_S.

Our Founder

Travis G. Johnson is the founder and principal of NEX_S. For more than two decades, he has led organizations in turning security, privacy, and AI standards into clear, day-to-day practices. His work spans cybersecurity leadership, compliance, quality, and program delivery—designing and tuning programs, earning approvals for complex cloud systems, and building teams that sustain results. Travis is known for translating frameworks (e.g., NIST, CMMC, ISO) into plain language, aligning executives and operators, and delivering audit-ready outcomes without unnecessary complexity. He brings big-program discipline with small-firm responsiveness, including the structure to lead as a prime on U.S. Federal work.

Travis also serves his community as President of the Reston Association Board of Directors, where he champions transparent governance and practical stewardship. At home, he’s grounded by his family—his wife, Candice, and their daughters, Liliana (LJ) and Annika—a reminder that the systems we build ultimately serve people.
